World Most Expensive battery operating car, Rolls Royce's Phantom 102EX

Rolls Royce enter the Electric Car category with new launched The Phantom 102EX , an electric version of the Rolls Royce’s Top-of-the-line model.

This car is powered by the world’s largest electric car battery, weighing 640 kg. It has a range of 125 miles. The batteries can be charged quickly — in about eight hours — but if you want to conserve battery life, you’ll need to take the slower route and leave the car charging for more than 20 hours.

The car’s battery is charged simply by parking the car over special pads buried in the ground. The technology, called induction charging, uses magnetic coupling instead of a regular cable at 90% energy conversion efficiency. It works like your Braun Electric Tooth Brush at home invented 22 years ago.

The Phantom 102EX will reach 60 mph in less than eight seconds with a maximum speed of 100 mph — but slower than the regular Phantom, whose V12 engine brings the car to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds.

Price? Wow, estimated to be of HKD$12,700,000.00! Not too much for a Snob, as this is the price of two 3 wrist watches…! Hmm!

Audi A8L 4.2 FSI Quattro

The A8 4.2L FSI Quattro sedan defines automotive luxury. It is what luxury is supposed to be - exclusive, innovative, a class of its own.
Review: 2011 Audi A8 4.2 FSI Quattro: The sweet smell of success.

NUTS & BOLTS: 2011 Audi A8 4.2 FSI Quattro.

Ride, acceleration and handling: Superior performance in all three.

The A8 4.2 is a full-size, front-engine, all-wheel-drive. Construction uses patented Audi Space Frame (ASF) technology, which mates aluminum with strategic applications of high-strength steel.

Engine/transmission: A 4.2-liter, 32-valve FSI ("fuel stratified injection"), gasoline engine (372 horsepower, 328 foot-pounds of torque). The engine is mated to an electronically controlled eight-speed automatic transmission.

Changes for 2011: The new Audi A8 4.2's V-8 has 22 more horsepower and three foot-pounds more torque than its predecessor. The new car's body is three inches longer and two inches wider than that of the previous model. An eight-speed automatic transmission replaces the six-speed automatic gearbox. Stylistically, the front end of the new car is markedly more aggressive than the front end of the 2010 version. Besides LED DRL, the new 10 LED as the new head Lamp adds a touch of Smart Tech elegancy.

Capacities: There are seats for five people. Luggage capacity is 13.2 cubic feet. The fuel tank holds 23.8 gallons of gasoline. Premium is required.

Mileage: The Environmental Protection Agency's estimate is 9.7L/100km.

Safety: Standard equipment includes ventilated disc brakes front and rear; anti-lock brake protection; electronic brake-force distribution; electronic stability and traction control; pre-collision safety system; post-collision safety system; and knee, side and head air bags.

Price: HK Snob not affordable!
