BYD stands for Build Your Dream, a ShenZhen Car building company, strong background on Battery R & D for handphoen applicatoion. At its new offices, BYD will show not only its vehicles, but also its photovoltaic solar panels, battery energy-storage systems, and advanced light-emitting diode (LED) lighting products.
The company expects to develop versions of its Chinese-market cars for U.S. sale at its new location, downtown Los Angeles as the location for its U.S. headquarters. Friday, California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger joined BYD's Chairman, Chuan Fu Wang aged 42 on the steps of City Hall to announce the deal.
The first of those is likely to be the E6 fully electric midsize five-seat crossover--roughly akin to a 2010 Ford Edge. A version of that car, the F3DM, was the world's first plug-in hybrid when it went on sale late in 2008. Its sales, however, have been minimal only small number of unit was sold to the government for running test. In late March, BYD and Daimler said the companies would develop electric vehicles for sale in China.
BYD says E6 will reach 60 mph from a standstill in 8 seconds, and its top speed is 100 mph. The E6 is said to offer up to 200 miles on a single charge of its lithium-ion battery pack. Pricing has not been announced, but is expected to be around USD$39,000 before tax incentives.
BYD sold 450,000 cars in China last year--including the single best-selling model, its F3 compact sedan running on conventional engine, which looks remarkably like a Corolla--and expects to sell 700,000 this year. Friend of mine is using that for two years, seems there is not any technical issue so far.
BYD has previously set and then discarded dates for putting its cars on sale in the U.S. It now says it will begin to provide cars to fleet users late this year, with retail sales early in 2011. Some industry observers are skeptical that BYD will meet those dates.
Still, with investment from famed financier Warren Buffet, BYD is not a company to be ignored.
Their share price rose from HKD$14.00 from Jan 2009 to highest about HKD$84 at Nov 2009. Now at HKD$72, I am optimistic about this stock and would like to expect a Sky high of HKD98 by end Sep 2010.

Best Engine Ever Made
In 1912, the world famous Austrian gynecologist, Dr. Hermann Otto Kloepneckler, M.D. Ph.D. published the following:
"The best engine in the world is the vagina. It can be started with one finger. It is self-lubricating. It takes any size piston. And it changes its own oil every four weeks. It is only a pity that the management system is so fucking temperamental.."

GM EN-V Concept EV Car for China
Daimler introduced its Smart ultracompact in China in 2008, though few of them can be seen yet on Shanghai streets. GM is not alone in viewing China as the market for tiny urbankas.
GM and its Chinese partner SAIC will showcase the "Electric Networked-Vehicle" launched Wednesday 24 March in their joint pavilion at the Shanghai Expo, which opens May 1 and runs for six months has demonstrated this Concept Car EN-V (pronounced as Envy).
With the trunk-less EN-V, GM has jettisoned the traditional "three box" system and gasoline-fueled engine in place of a pure-electric mini-vehicle meant strictly for city driving. Five fit in the parking space needed for one conventional vehicle, says Kevin Wale, president and managing director for GM China Group.
The 1.5 meter by 1.5 meter urbanka appears to build on GM's earlier work with Segway Inc. in developing the PUMA, or Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility vehicle. It will use the same types of battery cells as the Segway and the same battery supplier, Valence Technology Inc., said Christopher Borroni-Bird, GM's director of advanced technology vehicle concepts.
More to my expectation that BYD will likely work together with the major car players in the years to come for co-developing a greener type of new battery for supplying this Huge Demand on battery for the EV car market. This is my forecast of the battery maker in China as the current concern of battery is too heavy that kill the mileage of the EV car, and not sure how to re-cycle properly.

Too Big is too easy to be spoiled
When one company grows big to certain critical mass, that may create a lot of risk that small scale company will not have to bear. Even happened, the damages will not be as big as the big company.
Like Toyota, the gown big to 10M cars production a years a d they Toyota Way said, they have to share the common modules of car, to reduce the operation and development cost, where by placing them in a dangerous position if one of the small module fails, that lead to most of the cars to be recalled, Now the US car recalled is much bigger than the cars produced!
So There is no right or wrong, there is no perfect in all solution, but being a big company manager, he has to be open minded to all suggestions from the subordinately. No need to expect to have perfect solution as that is not exists, value the opportunity timing… be flexible handling cases and be alert to all coming potential risk… Do not place all egg in one basket, diversification on Factory location, product coverage, business unit concept, would be a more proactive way to insure the company will survive in case of crisis.
Latest news that half a million of Toyata Corolla has steerng wheel issue, it can not be keep straight at high speed. After recent recall on Camry for its steering locked problem.
I think the Toyota has a big issue and too many people is digging out more quality issue from Toyota. And As a matter of fact, I do not see any car has no quality issue at all. But being No.1 manufcaturing in volume. They might suffer most, So it is always true that the Larger the company, the damages could be serious!
The last media speech end of January, there is news that Toyata CEO left with an Audi at the rear entrance of the conference venue... The news media has a serious question on why he did not use his Toyota Car at all..

Porsche 911 Targa
This is a Porsche with engine was like new, maintained in tip top condition. It belongs to a good friend of mine.
This is rear position air cool flat 4 in line engine, final assembly was done in April 1985.
The Motronics is the ignition timing and injection control box. All sensors input and ignition and ingection timing and control output! It is kept everything in the original and has original software for maximum performance.Same 911 Targa for US will have different EPROM for catalytic control and therefore the power will drop to 210 hp from 231 hp of original German settings.
I wish that One day I could afford to own a Car like this in Hong Kong .

Countach EV concept Car
This tribute to Marcello Gandini who made the everlasting beautiful design of the Countach. The new impressive Contach EV had been created by Flavio Adriani, a freelance designer that mostly works in the architectural market.
However Flavia introduced a very nice twist into the Countach Concept Pure EV design. It as three small electric engines, one for each wheel at the front and a large one for the rear wheels, coupled to a set of batteries these propel the car to very high speeds.
Also note that the front houses wind turbine generators that actually charge the batteries while driving, and additionally the engine cover contains solar energy panels to power the batteries while driving and while being parked.

Lamborghini
These are line of Lamborghini Murcielago (one with exhaust pipe at the centre) and Lamborghini Gallardo LP-560-4 with two exhaust pipes at both side.
I think the outlook is superb, sleek and looks aweful, steel wheel ring and exhaust pipe, mirror stand, Back brake lamp arrow design, front low beam light are all LED, but the head lamp is still HID lamp!
They do not come with with latest technological proven LED!
Dashboard design is a bit too simple and lack of design refinment. The switches are cheap, and I still prefer to have a gear stick... as I am an old fashion man.
Colur, I like Yellow, orange and Green!
Well, My annual income can afford to buy the 18:1 metallic models...
